The "KIOSKI" proposal pays tribute to the small urban structures with the same name that have been forgotten overtime. We imagined a compact, wooden building with a welcoming ground floor where the city converges. Inside, different spaces and activities swirl in a buzzing atmosphere, as the central hall takes you upwards, rotating with the shifting landscape.

The “Parque das Ondas” proposal for the requalification of the Figueira da Foz City Entrance aims to promote pedestrian routes, soft mobility and the reformulation of public transport stations. The three pedestrian bridges connect the previously-apart residential areas, emerging from the now-requalified extensive green area with cycle paths, rest areas, outdoor activities and a multi-purpose center, as well as the creation of a new, more densified living area, meeting the country's current housing needs.

This is a commissioned project for a single-family house located in Porto, Portugal. The surroundings gave the clues for the concept of the two-story building, whose composition is the result of the articulation of the two volumes that face both adjacent streets.

The apartment is located in Porto, Portugal, and since the '70s had been a subject of an inconsiderate addition of elements. The proposed design for the kitchenette aims to solve the main preexisting issues by placing the facilities of a kitchen, living room and workspace in a single 7 meter cabinet-wall, whose width gradually decreases from the farthest point from the window. The same colour scheme was followed in the bathroom, as well as the same goal of letting in more natural light.

The crematorium aims to embody its surroundings: it celebrates a prosperous life, as well as the difficult times. The entrance is found at the midpoint of the north facade, where it is possible to access the exterior space composed by a large pond of water in between the two lines of columns, and it also separates the technical area from the ceremony area. The two tall elements that rise from the landscape draw attention to this forgotten place, reinforcing that the new architecture over the previous ruin shall use the decay in its favour, giving them a new life.

The three houses stand out as they form a small community with a different configuration comparing to recent dwellings in the surroundings that consist mostly in two-story villas scattered distantly from each other. The gathered data from the research served directly to inform all the design process.

Building a second life stands for gathering the theoretical and practical processes that substantiate the rehabilitation of a holiday home. Formerly built in wood, this house next to the dunes, had been suffering changes, in which new materials were unwisely added. Today, with the new occupants, begins a different life from the previous one.

The series "Alguém Esteve Aqui (Someone was here)" portraits the relationship between the Portuguese territory and its inhabitants. Despite the absence of human presence in the photographs, they are felt through gestures and specific intentions left in these places. These are records of a naive ability to organize a portion of the world that belongs to them. Therefore, indirectly, they are creating architecture, presenting others with their spatial honesty, without labeling any forms or methods. The captured photos seek to reveal these anonymous creations.
House for a Somnambulist Public CompetitionNidwald, Switzerland 2015

The idea of a house for a somnambulist shall be according not only with himself, but also with his condition. Inspired by the principle of the see-saw, the middle element of the house changes differently during daytime and nighttime: manual and automatic mode. At day hours, the entrance reveals itself when he arrives, leading him wherever he chooses to go. Moments after he goes to bed, the system switches to auto mode. When he starts to sleepwalk, the system detects his movements and gently guides him towards the nearby bedroom.
